Yesterday (Sunday 24th November 2024) I popped over to the end of Furlong Street in Arnold. This was the site of the engineering factory that I got my first job at way back in 1982 after leaving school and where I trained as a coded welder.

The entrance going off to the left used to be the entrance going into the factory yard. Now it just goes into an abandoned care home. It was kind of strange seeing the old place and remembering some of the times I had there over the years.

Some of the buildings and road layout were as I remember them and some are now very different.
