Today many prisoners held in UK prisons will be released early after serving only 40% of their sentence because of prison overcrowding.

I don’t blame any single government for this, I blame many successive governments over many years because they collectively failed to deal with the problem when the problem started.

The only losers on this are the general public. Prison is there to protect us from people who will not abide by the laws and rules of decent society and we can no loger trust a justice system to provide that protection.
