My never ending search for gadgetry Nirvana (part one)!
I love my “shack”. I love how it makes me feel and I love what it has done for me over the last 14 months. Going from a single Icom IC-705 HF QRP radio to what it has become today. I think it’s fair to say it brings me MASSIVE joy in a life that doesn't have that muck going for it.
One of the things I love about the shack is that it’s constantly developing in small steps. Constantly improving and getting better. One week I will add something, another week I’ll get rid of something (to make room to add something mainly!), and other weeks I’ll move are re-organise things to make it all hang together a little better.
It’s that constant quest that I love.
This week I have added a Audio Frequency Analyser and a Decibel Metre to the desk. Do I need them? Course not. Do they improve how my shack works? No. Finally, do they do anything useful? Oh yes, they make me VERY happy and that is the most important part of any gadget.
