I guess you could call me a sucker for punishment but yesterday (29-07-2024) I made a return trip to RAF Lakenheath. Home of an American F15 and F35 fighter wing.

This time I wasn’t disappointed one little bit. I sat in the viewing aera for about 4 – 5 hours and observed an steady flow of F15s and F35s taking off and landing all afternoon. The noise from the jet engines as took off was so loud that it actually made my car seat shake.

My only disappointment for the day was they were taking off away going away from us. If they had gone the other way they would have gone straight over us at full power and that would have been fantastic. Maybe next time.
