No Problems With These Guys

Given that I am part of the LGBT community this is going to sound vey strange but I really don’t want to have much to do with the general LGBT community. You see, I don’t like the over sexualisation of just about everything, I don’t like the cross dressing and the over the top cram it down your throat attitude of so many members of this community. And I don’t like the way that the media portrays only the extreme and controversial LGBT side of our community.

However, there is a part of my community that I respect and would be proud to stand next to until the end of time, and that’s the LGBT Military who serve in our armed forced both in the past and today.

These people didn’t go skipping down the street dressed as a teenage whore. No, they got on with their lives and did amazing things while keeping our country safe. While all the time living in fear of being discovered, shamed and chucked out of the military like a common criminal or worst.

And don’t forget, those who were found out did have their lives utterly destroyed in a torrent of government sanctioned hatred.

25 years ago, after a huge fight by these people the laws were changed, respect was restored, medals returned and apologies given.
